Stephen Brook: Opaque red. Smoky nose, rather tarry, close to jammy. Soft, rounded, rather lifeless, the sleek texture not quite making up for the lack of zest and freshness. Alcohol is far too prominent. Gawky, rather extracted, very tannic, and not very long. 13
Michael Schuster: Very dark red; superripe, almost raisiny nose; strong, tannic, extracted, and quite alcoholic; a spirity purity of fruit within a very oak dry astringent texture. The fruit seems fragile in relation to the tannin. Light, scented length, finishing a bit hot. Not bad, but not my style of St-Emilion. 14/14.5
