Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Very ripe cherry fruit, a bit stewed but not excessively so; some chocolate tones too. Rich, broad, concentrated, but has formidable tannins. The best terroirs at Gazin have preserved the fruit and a modicum of freshness that balances the weight of the wine. Rather soft texture and a chewy finish but a success for Pomerol. Quite good length. 16
Stephen Browett: Quite a deep color. Some power on the nose. Quite good density and concentration. For Pomerol 2003 this is quite robust, with good, chewy richness on the mid-palate. Not being a great fan of this property normally, I thought that this was a surprisingly good effort from Gazin. 15
Michael Schuster: Very dark red; dense, closed nose; medium-full, relatively supple, but firmly tannic; a clear minerality under the briskly ripe fruit here, quite complex, and with good length. Will need time. Will the tannins ever harmonise? Not sure. From 2015. 15.5
