Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Sumptuous, black-fruits nose, quite oaky, with a touch of mint. Medium-bodied but stylish and sleek, with a silky texture. Also has some depth of fruit and a lingering sweetness that is not derived from overripe fruit. Rather blunt tannins do mar the finish, though. Hard to know how this will develop, but it’s attractive now and should hold for a few years yet. Quite good length. 16
Stephen Browett: Very mature-looking. Weak on the nose and palate. This is going absolutely nowhere. Oh dear. No second bottle available. This was a magnum. 13
Michael Schuster: Mid-purple red; closed but fragrant nose of raspberry and mineral; rich middleweight wine with a firm tannin; ripe, flavorsome, relatively fleshy, long across the palate, but within a fairly long-term tannin, not overly severe or astringent, however, and with very good fruit and scented length. Both good Pomerol and good 2003. But will need time. From 2015. 16.59
