Slightly darker pink, with a caramel color. Floral fragrance, with notes of glove leather, fresh herbs, and toffee. Scintillating aromatic profile. Light to medium weight, greater density than the 1834, but equally soft texturally. A melange of cane sugar and spiced strawberry flavors, with a light and intricately woven caramel undertone that remained on the decadent and persistent finish. It was an extraordinary showing for a Port of this age. It held together for more than five hours in my glass—a remarkable feat and the first time I’ve ever seen any wine from this particular vintage. It was a real privilege, to say the least. | 96
