One of the all-time great Cockburn’s, along with 1908 and 1927. I was very excited to revisit this, and it did not disappoint. Light tawny-brick color throughout. Dried rose petals, crème brûlée, and eucalyptus made for a ravishing and slightly high-toned bouquet. Spectacular! It delivered on its promise, well balanced structurally, with off-dry mixed-berry compote and toffee flavors and an overtone of pine and anise toward the end. This velvety Cockburn’s finished with amazing persistence and loads of freshness, considering its age. A fine showing of the 1912, and I chalk it up to impeccable provenance. | 97
