BUY THE WINE

James Lawther: Very much the mirror image of the grand vin in a scaled-down form. An unusually high proportion of Cabernet Franc (65%) in the blend goes a long way to explaining why. Deep, dark color. Ripe, expressive nose, with a generous expression of dark fruit. Very pure on the palate, with finely grained tannins, smooth texture, and long, lifted finish. A seriously good second wine. 2014–25. 17.5
