James Lawther: Still a little shaken from the bottling (July 2012) but I’ve a feeling this could eventually be up there with the 2005. Purple-black hue. Enormous depth of fruit on the nose and palate with a hint of integrated oak. Dark fruit, cassis and licorice aromas and flavor. Prodigious but refined tannic frame. Terrific length. Not quite seamless at the moment but all the elements are there. Extremely promising long-term. Drink 2024–50. 19+
