James Lawther: Given the heat and drought of the year, this is a major success. Really shows the influence of terroir. Deep, dark color. Lovely depth of fruit—intense and pure. A hint of toasted oak but integrated. Volume and complexity on the palate, but such poise as well. Long, fresh, and lifted, the opposite of the dull, flabby offerings often seen in this vintage. And a finely honed tannic structure as well. Definite aging potential. 2014–2035. 18.5
