BUY THE WINE

Michael Schuster: Dense to smell, ripe and softly citrus grapefruity; rich, ample, fresh enough; ripe, sappy, and long, “easy” for Haut Brion, gently aromatic and with a refined juicy fruit. An open, flowing, graceful wine of great finesse, if not great projection; less complex and energetic, for now at least, than the white La Mission Haut-Brion. One for the medium term? 2022–30. 93–94

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: The absolute epitome of its appellation: magnificent aromatic notes of verbena, and very harmoniously integrated wood, suave like no other dry white of Bordeaux. A bouquet that is a little more ample and perfect this year than that of La Mission. 97–98
