Michael Schuster: Restrained on the nose, subtle blackfruit ripe; full, elegant in an ample style, fresh, firmly but finely tannic; the house style of great sweetness and concentration of fruit; ripe, vital, refined and subtle within a firmly tannic frame from both grape and new oak tannin; refined, complex, long to taste, refined and long to finish. Marked complexity, tenacity of flavor, aromatic persistence, subtlety and class. A fine modern interpretation of a top St-Emilion, but the new oak to the fore for now, and I wonder if its delicacy will absorb all the new wood? 2030–40+. 92–94
Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Elegant unctuosity, refined tannin, brilliant and energetic, great intensity. 96–97
