Michael Schuster: A wonderfully promising cassis-ripe nose; generous, firm, and fresh, and with a very finegrained tannin; sweet-fruited, fine-textured, long and complex to taste, a very refined, contained power; subtle, almost fleshy and yet also tautly defined; a beautiful length of flavor and aftertaste. An effortless long-term beauty. 2030–45+. 93–95
Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Great volume in the mouth, intense color, a monumental Poyferré, maybe for the moment a bit thickened by its Merlots and its Petit Verdots, more important in the blend than in the two other Léovilles. Length and complexity that warrant waiting. 93–97
