Andrew Jefford: Deep, saturated black-red. Fresh, warm, sweet, complex: fruit and stone in a balanced embrace. Hugely appetizing. Weighty for the vintage (though resolutely not in an absolute sense), with spicy fruits, soft though palpable textures, and impressive complexity already. On the palate (as sketched out by the aromas), you have a sense of plant sap and stone, as well as fruits. The fruits have freshness and poise. Has all the friendliness and sensual generosity that we have come to associate with Léoville Poyferré in recent years, but nuanced and intellectually rewarding, too. A fine effort for this vintage, and a gorgeous drink. 2018–28. 93
Michael Schuster: Dense and closed to smell; medium-full, brisk in acidity, fairly concentrated, firmly but finely tannic; plenty of ripe fruit at the heart of this wine, but still tannic from the fruit and the new wood; long, flavory, complex, and with fine aromatic length; complete, but unyielding for now, and needing plenty of time. 2025–40+. 92
