Michael Schuster: Ripe red fruit and mineral to smell; a rich middleweight, very fresh in acidity, very fine in tannin; long and sweet to taste, with a clear web of complexity, mineral in aromas behind the crisp, sweet fruit, mouth-coating, succulent, almost silky in its gently fleshy quality. A wine of great poise, length, and with a lovely, subtle sweet fruit and mineral fragrance on the finish. A beautiful Pavillon Rouge with that understated quality of many of the year’s best wines. 2027–40+. 92–94
Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Precise, but difficult to judge because of a very discreet fruit and slightly too warm sample. We were more impressed by Alter Ego. 95–96
