Alex Hunt: Quite shy and closed, but really pretty summer-berry fruit here. This has pinpoint Beaujolais crunchiness alongside the depth and tannic structure you’d expect from Morgon. A fine combination that harnesses only the positive aspects of the vintage. 90
Andrew Jefford: Deep, dark black-purple-red. Spicy, vivid, and full: primary black-cherry seamlessly integrated with sweeter, softer secondary notes of fresh, brushed spice and orange peel. On the palate, this is a masterful Côte de Py, packed with exuberant fruit (red cherry, raspberry), with a more vivid acid structure than many of its peers, and with generous tannins that will give it table aptitude and cellar tenacity. The tannins are just a little aggressive, but the next year or two should see them calm. 90
Peter Liem: The ripe, berry-like fruit is slightly earthy in tone, combining a rich body with a focused structure. It’s marked by the saline minerality of the cru, finishing with ample depth. | 89
