Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red. Savory, rounded, not particularly focused but nothing underripe here; a quiet claretty appeal of subtle classicism. Dark, vivid, fresh, and earthy, and gratifyingly classic on the palate even if the vintage means it must be a “small” wine for swift drinking. Now to 2019. 84
Michael Schuster: Light, cedary, blackcurrant Cabernet and lightly gravelly nose; medium-full, fresh to brisk, gently tannic; very red fruit in flavor, some length, but on the austere side for many of today’s palates; okay with food, but on the “hard work” side. Now, with food, to 2022. 84
