Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red. Earthy, rather stewy aromas, but has a little aromatic power and thrust to it, and that’s hard to come by in this vintage. Vivid and almost full, though relatively smooth and without much nobility of fruit, but this could be a very good buy for the vintage at a modest price, and it has better overall ripeness than many grander wines. Now to 2020. 84
Michael Schuster: Light, Bordeaux minerally nose; light, redfruit vivid in acidity, quite firm in tannin; really just lacking in ripe fruit for much drinking pleasure; brief, austere. Drink now, with food, because unlikely to give more pleasure with keeping. 83
