Andrew Jefford: Dark, dense black-red. Leafy and fresh but alluring withal; not oppressively herbaceous. Clean and open-scented, with some floral complexities. Concentrated, severe and tight-knit on the palate: very dense, taut, and authoritative, with ample tannin and sustained acidity lending focus and drama to slender, gothic fruit. It is an admirable wine for the vintage that classicists may greatly enjoy, though non-classicists may find it a challenge. 2018–25. 91
Michael Schuster: Faintly farmyard to smell, but nicely balanced in its 2013 austere way; medium-full, fresh in acidity, firm in tannin; freshly ripe to taste, savory and complex within the overall severity of the year in St-Estèphe; long to taste, but youthful and relatively backward, some length of flavor; good, but much time required to mellow. 2025–35+. 90
