Andrew Jefford: Deep, clear black-red. Rather a dull nose, without much density or articulacy. A much smoother wine than most of its classed growth peers, and profoundly acidic. There’s a little secondary savory complexity, but for me this dominating structural acidity is a challenge and I’d find it hard to drink much. Now to 2021. 85
Michael Schuster: Relatively closed to smell; nicely concentrated midweight wine, brisk in acidity, firm in tannin, a touch of overall severity to this; savory, and with both length of flavor and length of finish, but with an overall firmness of structure that will need time to mellow. 2025–35+. 89
