Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red: a denser color than Las Cases this year. Sweet, alluring scents without any kind of leafiness and with some richer red fruits (strawberry in particular) joining the cool black-fruit feast. Very attractive within the vintage parameters. Soft, gentle, open: ample blackcurrant pastille fruit and some soft, almost dark-chocolate tannins. A successful wine for the vintage, though I’m not sure that this vintage really suits the generally sensual Poyferré style. 2018–2022. 90
Michael Schuster: Dense and ripe-fruited to smell; full, firm, tannic; a fine, ripe flavor, long and quite complex across the palate within an overall fairly firm and austere structure; clearly a fine wine, with plenty of ripe fruit, and with a fine fruit persistence, too, but also with a noticeable long-term firmness ... how will this turn out? Needs plenty of time. 2027–40. 91
