Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red. Fresh and lively; some oak, but a fruit pungency, too, and already some nascent savory complexities. Subtle, quiet, enticing, if on the bare edge of ripeness. Later in the glass, the aromas turn a little medicinal. Sappy, fresh, vivid, lively, and it’s a wine that has retained the nobility of fruit in the vintage, even if there is no warm roar behind it. Lovely, fine, savory tannins in support; indeed, they are almost chunky. It has some length. But we are on the edge of ripeness: just there, but not by much. Now to 2024. 89
Michael Schuster: Red-fruit and mineral nose; medium-full, fresh in acidity, finely but firmly tannic; fresh, savory, red-fruit ripe, still youthfully tannic; quite firm in structure for the available fruit, but that said, this is long to taste and to finish; a firmer expression of the year, which will need time. Good, but you would need to like the slight austerity. 2022–30. 89
