Andrew Jefford: Dark red-black. Sweet, plummy, warm. Impressive to have grabbed this much fragrantly sweet wealth from 2013. It floats, it wafts, it seduces, it enchants. Once in the mouth, you’ll find a low-acid, open-textured wine of ample but slightly exhausted ripeness, given balance by generous though soft tannins. Not much fresh fruit to speak of. Paradoxically, the final effect is just a little dry. A good wine, an amazing response to the vintage, not one of the stars, though I would love to drink the wine any time. Now to 2021. 88
Stephen Brook: Bright cherry nose, perky but not green. Medium-bodied but fresh and sleek, a wine that accepts its limited concentration but still delivers a moreish glass with refreshing acidity. Deftly crafted with a hint of red fruits, delicate oak, and a decent finish. 90
