Michael Schuster: Deep purple; dense, spicy, scented nose, marked by clear new oak cedar—persistent; rich, elegantly balanced middleweight Burgundy, fresh in acidity, finely but firmly tannic; long, very minerally flavor, complex and tenacious, but all the while retaining its Echézeaux refinement and restraint; mouth-fillingly aromatic and minerally without being noticeably strong or forceful; considerable scope, needing time—one of the wines that shows that this vintage also has bones/structure and long-term prospects. A long, powerfully aromatic finish. Needs 8–10 years. Drink 2015–30 .
