That tropical fruit character comes through very clearly on the palate, which also retains the bright freshness and zestiness. Stephen Brook: Curiously heavy nose of peach syrup, more Sauternes than Barsac. Ample fruit, of course, but not the usual Coutet clarity. But the palate is splendid: forthright and lively, compact and intense, with a pineappley acidity cutting through the rich fruit. This has depth and weight, and the oak seems to be very well integrated. This will go the distance. 94
