Andrew Jefford: Deep full gold. Rich, heavy, lush, and full: lemon and buttered walnut. Another wine promising a wealth of generosity. Lush, tangy, rich, and super-sweet on the palate, balanced by surprisingly high levels of acidity and extract. Grand, multi-layered Sauternes which is already well down its evolution trajectory, but which will have more ahead. Almost explosive on the finish, even if it lacks the sumptuousness and grain of the Suduiraut. Now to 2028. 92
Stephen Brook: Gold. Oak dominates the nose, which nonetheless shows admirable apricot and mango fruit, and a striking elegance. The fruit dances onto the attack thanks to the perky acidity. Still adolescent on the palate, this has lively candied stone fruits and a sweet-and-sour pungency, and there’s no lack of nuance here. It is less opulent than some other top wines, but has drive and tension. Still needs a few years to harmonize. 93
