Michael Schuster: Dark, brick-rimmed red; dense, ripe-fruited, lightly oaky, persistent nose. A rich, fleshy wine with a firm underlying tannin; opulence, ripe fruit, generosity, and length to taste, but also quite severe in tannin, especially on the finish. Mass and muscle rather than aromatic finesse. Typically chunky 2003 style but not baked in character. Slightly foursquare, needing another decade. 2018–30. 17?
