Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Rather blank if oaky nose, inexpressive, with a slight greenness. Fairly rich, juicy, accessible, with firm, ripe tannins rumbling below the surface. Has grip without aggression but lacks a little acidity. Quite meaty; solid rather than exciting; moderate length. Pomerol? 15.5
Andrew Jefford: Relatively light and clear. This smells almost Médocain, with a refined, “gravelly” quality to the curranty fruits. Is it gravel? Sorted, filtered, earthy. Lovely warm, ringing, gravelly quality to the palate, too, though the lushness and fullness is very Merlot. Beautiful wine. Fine intensity; purity and length. Just a slight drying out at the finish to add refinement and poise. Pomerol third terrace or St-Emilion graves? 17
Hugh Johnson: Clear, even red; very slight rim of maturity. Slight cardboard/oak nose, young and unresolved. Plummy and lively palate but acid/tannins dominant. Builds on the back palate and clings. Promising. 15
