Richard Mayson: Pale and mature in tone. Slightly high-toned on the nose and lacking in freshness. Very sweet and slightly unctuous in style, but complex, some very old wines being used in the blend, which compromises its freshness at this level. Some may like this; I prefer more freshness and poise. 15

Margaret Rand: A respectable nose and some vivacity on the palate, plus walnuts and toast. An agreeable wine with some delicacy as well as depth. 14
