Simon Field: A very precocious child; deeply saturated and with a youthful and somewhat carefree approach, flamboyant and careless of structural stipulation. We may infer that this may come, au fur et à mesure; for now, let us enjoy the energy, the verve, and spirited attack, then the mysterious inconsequence of the finish, which will, in all likelihood, be resolved over time. | 88
Andrew Jefford: Saturated, deep black-red, with a crimson glaze to the glass. Peppery, spicy, fresh, and pervasive aromas of poised, lifted blackcurrant fruits and discreet spices, roses and Darjeeling. Very pretty and fine-grained. On the palate, this is sweetly and opulently fruited, with some subtle acidity and less subtle but almost soft and burnished tannins. An outstanding young Vintage Port, with purity, depth, and drive. | 92
Richard Mayson: Deep, opaque; restrained on the nose, underlying berry-fruit purity showing through; quite rich and fleshy initially, with lovely, pure fruit character backed by tight, firm tannins and a long, linear, dusty finish, with a slightly leafy edge. | 90
