Jesús Barquín:Bold and cheeky on the nose, with notes of spice and berry fruit, plus a mineral hint in the background. The palate resents a lack of balance marked by tannic softness and the feeling that the wine is sustained solely on sweetness and alcohol. 14.5
Richard Mayson:Very deep, inky black color; giving almost nothing away on the nose, tight-knit with underlying purity of fruit evident; very fine, mouth-filling with lovely depth and purity, powerful ripe tannic superstructure persisting on to the finish without dominating the fruit, the beauty and purity of which returns on the finish. Very fine, great poise. A great wine. 19
Charles Metcalfe:Sweet, ripe, inviting aromas. Very appealing, soft but powerful tannins, a hint of herby Touriga Nacional and good acidity. Ripe, gentle wine that has the structure to develop but is already very inviting. Definitely the modern style of Vintage Port. Balanced and elegant, and should evolve well. 16.5
