Mark Savage: Well, here we are again with the wine that made the wine world sit up and take notice of Oregon in the first place. A remarkably charming wine, graceful, with hints of tabac and spice to go with the rose petals and floral fruit perfumes. A wine of subtlety, with beautiful balance, no harsh edges, great complexity and delicacy, still well structured, and by no means dried out. It remains infinitely intriguing, a wine that one wants to return to again and again—if only it were possible to do so! Tasting blind still, I gave it my highest score of the day, but this was a very strong flight, and others ran it close.
