Serena Sutcliffe: The year of the May 29 frost and La Grande Coulure—the result was a production of 11hl/ha, or 160 barrels. New wood was used in this vintage. 12.5% ABV. In the past, I have found it minty, meaty, and complex. This was fabulously layered and firing on all cylinders. Tannic and yet sweet. Intoxicating depth and with profound mystery. It is a staggeringly beautiful wine.
