Jesús Barquín:Intense brown amber. Intense and complex on the nose, with a marked nutty and mature fruit character, prunes, cinnamon. Comparatively drier on the palate, serious—here the spicy edge takes the lead. Deep and thoughtful finish, but an alcoholic touch prevents the wine from being at the top. 92
Andrew Jefford:Clear and translucent. Earthy and warm, with some of the menthol freshness that seems to come with the years, but a little less complex in aromatic repertoire than the best of its peers. Not in any sense deficient on the palate, though; this is masterful and zesty, aromatically complex, with a bright, athletic style to it—indeed, one might almost make allusion to a “dry finish” (actually more a function of the acid balance than the residual sugar). Excellent work. 92
Richard Mayson:Pale to mid-amber tawny; lovely savory toasted-almond aromas, slightly lifted, and showing freshness and savory complexity; gentle and refined on the palate, with lovely savory complexity again and near-perfect poise on the finish. Lithe and linear, quite dry in style on the finish but a very beautiful wine overall. 97
