Michael Schuster: Strong, sweetly ripe, very new-oak-marked nose; concentrated, fairly full-bodied wine with a firmly tannic frame; lovely sweet core flavor, rather tough texture, long in the mouth and with excellent, delicately scented fruit persistence. Plenty of new oak-tinged, ripe fruit, but the tannin texture does detract, at least at the moment, from the overall harmony of the wine. A truly beautiful, refined, and delicate St-Emilion fruit with a distractingly heavy framework. Will need plenty of time to harmonize. 2020–30+. 16.5/17
