Michel Bettane: Black color; very open nose going in two directions: first, the classical Pauillac Havana spices, then a less refined, more roasted leathery character. But the body is as superb as the finish, with splendid concentration. Great future 18

Thierry Desseauve: Havana, spice, intensity, great tight structure, flesh, length, and persistence. Could you want more? 17.5

Michael Schuster: Dense, fine, youthful blackcurrant Cabernet-and-mineral nose; rich, ample, firmly but finely tannic, complete Pauillac; deep, dense, close-knit, and ripe-fruited flavor; generous, ample, and with excellent length. Long and fine, aromatically complex, top-notch Pauillac, nipping at the heels of the first growths. Splendid claret. Leave for at least a decade—it will be gloriously satisfying. 2020–35+ 18
