Michel Bettane: Excellent color; very noble nose, indicating fully ripe Cabernet; marvelous texture, fine tannins—absolutely superb, and a must in this vintage. Perfect expression of St-Julien greatness. I will be sad not having it in my cellar, and I will try to find some 18.5

Thierry Desseauve: Great cedar aroma; sculptural body; deep wine, aristocratic and tense. A brilliant success 18

Michael Schuster: Fine, cedary nose; rich, elegantly balanced wine in the year’s firmer style; plenty of ripe fruit behind the firm frame of tannin and acidity; will need time, but this is a fine St-Julien that will be very satisfying in the long term. 2017–27 16.5
