Michel Bettane: Great color; lovely nose indicating fully ripe berries; stunning body and texture for the vintage, even with a hint of dominating alcohol. Marvelous tannins, old vines in evidence, and a great future. Excellent—and far above most other Margaux 18

Thierry Desseauve: Dark color; very seductive nose, with a perfect combination of fruit and oak; rich body, super-silky tannins, length and very elegant generosity. Charm and depth 18

Michael Schuster: Fine, fruity Merlot nose; elegantly balanced, supple, finely, dryly tannic wine; sweet core of fruit, fragrant and refined, long and subtle and graceful across the palate. Perfumed and persistent, and with excellent scented length; classic Margaux finesse and fragrance, with the complexity of a top classed growth. A bit of austerity means this will need time, but it is noticeably complete for the year. Will be very good. 2017–30+ 17.5 +
