Michel Bettane: Lots of new oak in the nose; very ripe berries; high alcohol content, of course, but nothing excessive; velvety tannins, inimitable Pessac print, very long and seductive. Certainly too young to please everyone 18
Thierry Desseauve: Dark color; blackcurrant and peony notes; generous and fleshy body. Large and sweet structure, silky ripe tannins, great persistence 18
Michael Schuster: Fine, ripe fruited, oak-cedary nose; elegantly balanced wine, with the characteristic youthful oak-dry tannin texture; nicely integrated fresh acidity; plenty of sweet, ripe fruit; nice length in the mouth and excellent fruit length on the finish. Firm, fine, complete in the rectilinear style of the year. 2016–30+ 17
