Michael Schuster: Dark, mature, brick-rimmed red; discreet, refined, subtle, minerally bouquet; elegant, supple, mature middleweight, with a lightly sinewy tannin; medium-sweet, faintly raisiny, moderately complex, medium length. You notice the sinews slightly because of a lack of real “fat”; quite good, and absolutely ready. A bit foursquare and attenuated by comparison with the best Vargellas; lacking subtlety and aromatic scope. Early promise unfulfilled? Now to 2015 (January 2009). 16
