Michael Schuster: Backward, of course, but a lovely, concentrated scented nose of violets and minerals, a dense and hovering presence, a subtle, gentle splendor. Rich, concentrated, elegant, firmly tannic wine, beautifully constituted with the noticeable freshness and vitality of the vintage. Rich, very sweet, very long in the mouth, but remaining in the typical vein of Vargellas; elegant yet profound, with a notable fineness of tannin texture; long, complex, even palate, beautifully sustained and resonant, without any trace of asperity, excess, or force, just a richly packed, restrained, and elegant harmony, with wonderful spice and mineral length. Beautiful, effortless wine. 2015–35+ (January 2009). 18.5
