Stephen Brook: Opaque red. Rich, smoky, plummy nose, plenty of fruit lurking in the glass, and it’s not cooked. Soft, rounded, fleshy, black fruits flavors with a certain opulence; doesn’t lack concentration and the tannins, though very firm, give some grip and structure. Robust but much better balanced than most Margaux. Has some swagger and grip. Moderate length and a chocolaty finish, and doesn’t just fade away after the first sip. 16
Stephen Browett: A solid color with ripe fruit and new oak on the nose. Plump and ripe on the palate with cassis and licorice. Low acidity, high alcohol, an opulent mouth-full here. A bit too heady for me. Not real Margaux. 14
Michael Schuster: Dark red, oak cedar and mineral nose; supple middleweight, fluid core within a very oak dry tannin texture; fluid Margaux delicacy at its heart dominated by a dry tannin texture; not bad, but tough, and rather charmless! Needs at least 5 years; and then? 14
