Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Dumb nose, more oak than fruit at this stage. Rich, full-bodied, quite luscious, fine texture, with well-integrated tannins. The fruit quality is a bit chunky now, but overall this well balanced and reasonably complete. It does lack some length and flair, but it’s harmonious with no jagged edges. Successful for the vintage. 16.5
Stephen Browett: Already showing some fade. Very fragrant and feminine on the nose. Classy, supple and smooth on the palate. Extremely Margaux-like and polished. Seems forward and charming but there is a sense of hidden depth. 15.5
Michael Schuster: Dark red; complex, cassis cored, minerally nose; elegantly balanced in the vintage’s severe style; long across the palate, close grained, and finely Cabernet in flavor, but chewy textured. Fine, scented length suggest this will be good, but quite when is very difficult to say. Feels as though it needs ten years at least, and whether the fruit core will simply have lost its freshness by then is the question. Good, but…. From 2016. 16.5
