Stephen Browett: Deep color with a little fade at the rim. Fragrant Graves nose. Nicely silky with delicately fragrant Graves character. However, there is not a lot to it and it lacks flesh at the center. Pretty but not one of the best wines of the flight (which it should be). Not a great La Mission. 15

Michael Schuster: Dark red, brick rim; fine red fruit and subtle mineral nose; moderately rich wine with a firm tannin; quite a chewy texture round a curiously delicate fruit; some complexity, but a bit four square overall, and with a warm, dry textured, medium length finish. Accessible soonish, in spite of the tannin. 2015-25. 16.5
