Stephen Brook: Deep to very deep red. Lively nose, cherries, tobacco. Fairly rich, but a bit soupy, with some fiercely overripe fruit and a hot aftertaste. The palate is at odds with the nose. The tannins are quite aggressive, too, but that is less of a problem than the lack of acidity and freshness. Medium length. 13

Stephen Browett: Medium to light color. Soft, creamy nose. Smooth and silky on the palate, with very little intensity. Light-weight but recognizably St-Emilion in style. This could really do with a lot more body. Weak, especially in the light of what it is. La Dominique should be much better than this. 13.5

Michael Schuster: Dark red; pretty, ripe fruited nose, but oak clear too; medium full wine, with a nice freshness for the year and a firmish, but not excessive tannin; ripe, fleshy fruit at the heart of this wine—juicy, moderately complex, nice length across the palate, and with good length. Attractive, well balanced, a little dry-edged for my personal taste, but this is good St-Emilion. Drinkable now, no hurry. 15.5+
