Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Another almost exclusively Cabernet Sauvignon vintage, but made in a style unlike the 2005 and 2006. Impressive backbone, but with it today comes an impression of rigidity and stiffness not seen in any of the other Médoc first growths. Very classy and slender, but also severe, showing the masculine side of an ambivalent cru that in 2007 displayed considerably more eloquence and revealed its feminine side! 17.5+

Michael Schuster: A lovely fruit and mineral density on the nose—freshness and ripeness at once; a fine-boned balance that is taut, fresh, moderately concentrated, and finely tannic; a delicious, sweet-cored red fruit and mineral taste, subtle, complex, fragrant, and with excellent, scented length. A fairly long-term, firm, racy Margaux of great purity. 2022–45. 18/18.5
