Michael Schuster: The combined second white wine of Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion. As so often, Sauvignon’s guava and grapefruit to the fore in youth, despite the Semillon dominance; full, supple, yet fresh; dry, vivid flavor of very ripe fruit but no mawkishness; long, juicy, graceful, and quite complex, with a lovely freshness and excellent light length. This will make a very fine mature bottle. 2014–22+. 16.5/17+
