Michael Schuster: Dense, classy nose of black fruit and minerals; very well balanced in a firmly tannic mold, an abundance of fruit within the tannic frame. Long and sweet and refined; you notice the alcoholic warmth as a touch of potency, and this seems to harden the tannins a bit; but fine, sweet persistence. A fine if fairly austere long-term second wine. 2025–40+. 16.5/17+
