Michel Bettane: Very dark color, classic cedary nose, larger (by far) body than Dame, texture of old vines, very concentrated for the vintage, classy, young, very Montrose, great potential. Some bitterness or astringency too, from barrel, to soften with age. 17.5
Thierry Desseauve: The oaky taste is still dominating. It is a powerful wine, one of those we have to wait a very long time to understand the totality of its potential. Right now, it is not spectacular, but in the future… 17
Michael Schuster: Dense, closed nose but ripe fruit there; rich, firm, tannic, elegance; a fine, sweet core of very refined fruit within firm, fine-textured tannin; long, aromatic, complex, aristocratic wine, mouth-coating, persistent, powerful yet restrained; great scope, great firmness, lovely ripe fruit, very mineral aromatics, and very long to finish; pure and fine. The influence of Jean Delmas, from Haut-Brion, clear in this, his first vintage here. Harmonious, complete, very good indeed. Needs a decade in bottle at least. 2020–35. 17.5
