BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Mid-ruby/garnet. Still young. Complex; wild herbs and asian spices on the nose, with sweet red fruits. A touch of savory Brett on the palate, undermining the wine a little. High-alcohol finish, medium tannins, lots of flavor, but the wine doesn’t quite come together. 13.5

Nicolas Belfrage: Deepish, with turn. Full-on nose of herb, wood, and fruit. Forceful wine of strong tannin-acid backbone combining with, but not quite (yet) marrying with, some quality fruit on the palate. Good length; needs time. drink 2016+. 17

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to tawny. Mature, developed nose of small black fruits; a touch rustic. Fairly green on the palate, and again quite rustic. 13
