Andrew Jefford: Pale gold in color. Exuberant if slightly muddled fruit, with lots of ripe apricot and dessert apple over an autumnal leafiness. Dry, structured, quite extractive, finishing quite abruptly; forceful and deep, but not a lot of charm here. Concentrated, though. 13.5
Andreas Larsson: The nose is quite steely and mineral, with some notes of citrus and yellow fruit. The palate is bone-dry and offers a mouthwatering freshness, rather full and austere in a positive sense. Good length, too, rather ripe, a touch of alcohol and warmth on the finish. 15.5
Stephan Reinhardt: The biggest problem of this wine is that it follows [Markus Molitor Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese Mosel Germany 2009] and is from another world. Very ripe and mineral fruit aromas, with yeasty notes. Complex and powerful on the palate, very mineral and bone-dry. Pure. Thrilling. Trying hard to make [Markus Molitor] forgotten. Still dominated by the yeasty layer, but the purity, lightness, elegance, and balance are remarkable. Very good mineral length. Fascinating purity and dryness. However, when I came back to it from [Pichler-Krutzler Riesling Smaragd Dürnsteiner Kellerberg Austria 2009], it was extremely yeasty and creamy, and I missed the freshness and vibrancy of [the Pichler-Krutzler]. 16
