Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Very dense color, with rich fruit, length, and intensity—all the makings of a wine that will go the distance. 18

Michael Schuster: Dense, soft, sweet, ripe blackberry Merlot fruit and subtle oak on the nose; very nicely balanced, rich, elegant, vital, and finely tannic wine; long, gentle, subtle, and pure in the mouth; fresh, vivid, ripe-fruited flavor; pure, linear, quite compact but not at the expense of its elegance; good, fresh, sweet-fruited length with a notable fruit core persistence especially; typical ’08 low yield Merlot purity, definition, and finesse. A lovely La Mondotte. 2016–30+. 16.5/17+
